Services for Mrs. Cathy Ogden will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Central Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Purvis.  Bro. Danny Saul will officiate the service and burial will follow in Grantham Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Ogden, Tommy Ogden, Logan McNeil, Josh Hines, Stephen Wright, and Allen Brunson.

Cathy Jean Ogden, of Purvis, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister went home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the age of 71.  Cathy was born on January 10, 1952 to James and Neta Fae Purvis in Purvis, Mississippi where she grew up with her four siblings and lived the majority of her life.  She graduated from Oak Grove High School.  Cathy then married her young love and eternal soulmate, Danny Ogden, in 1968.  In their 55 years together, Cathy raised their four children and served her community for over 30 years as a nurse's aide and EKG technician at Wesley Medical Center.

Cathy always enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  Her house was never empty, always overflowing with visitors or grandchildren.  She fondly enjoyed having her daily coffee dates with her sister, Helen, crocheting crafts for her grandbabies and watching old timey western films with her husband.

Those meeting her in heaven include her parents, James and Neta Fae Purvis; and her oldest brother, Ricky Purvis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Danny; their four children, Mitchell, Matthew and his wife, Jennifer, Melissa and her husband, Mehboob, and Gary and his wife, Suzanna; her siblings, Helen, Kenny, and Terry and his wife, Jurea; her grandchildren, Tommy, LeighAnn, Sarah, Justin, Gabby, Conner, Caitlyn, Lily, Luke, and Logan; and 5 great grandchildren.
