Services for Mrs. Carolyn Sue Freeman, age 76, of Richton will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Richton.  Mrs. Freeman passed from this life on January 2, 2024 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Bro. Nelson Crozier and Bro. Rayburn Freeman will officiate the service and burial will follow in Freeman Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Freeman, Colby Freeman, Sab Freeman, Eddie Kersey, Tommy Freeman, Chance Cameron, and Will Freeman.

Mrs. Freeman was a member of Zion's Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Smidge" Freeman; parents, Tillous and Lorene Broome; grandson, Kaleb Upshaw; brother, Gene Broome; and sisters, Frances Broome, Edith Maxie, Beatrice Ladner, Lokey Stevison, and Betty Landrum.

She is survived by her daughter, Monica (James) Lea of Mt. Olive; sons, Tracy (Nancy) Freeman of Richton and Shane (Vanessa) Freeman of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Tommy (Morgan) Freeman of Petal, Sab (Stephanie) Freeman of Pensacola, FL, Shelby (Chance) Cameron of Richton, Karlie Upshaw of Hattiesburg, Eddie Kersey and Ally Kersey, both of Pensacola, FL; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Billy (Gertrude) Broome of Richton, Bobby (Marlene) Broome of Grand Bay, AL, and V.R. (Gaye) Broome of Richton; and sisters, Cleo Breland of McLain, Ann (Charles) Clark of Grand Bay, AL, Laura (Lee) Milam and Vivian (Willie) Odom, both of Richton.
