Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023, in the Fairchild Cemetery of Moselle for Mr. Brian Pickering with visitation 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home of Moselle before the service. Bro. Zach Rowell will officiate with burial following the service. Pallbearers will be Donovan Pickering, Tyler Watson, James Watson, Preston Cruz and Cody Sanford.

September 21, 2023, Brian Pickering 44, of Moselle, MS passed from this temporary life to go reside permanently with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Brian, the eldest of three children was born on October 19, 1978, to Randy and Lanita Pickering. Brian was a simple man who never wanted or need applause for anything. After graduating high school in Sumrall, MS with honors, he could have become anything he wanted in this life, and he did. For what he wanted, unlike many others, wasn't a long list of degrees or accomplishments. He wanted to live a simple life that glorified Christ. Brian was a humble, precious man of a rare integrity, always in search of the truth. Brian's short, yet impactful life, was filled with challenges. In July of 2009, he suffered a traumatic brain injury. According to many doctors and medical professionals, he should never have been able to walk or talk the same again. However, praise Jesus, the only great and true physician, saw fit to heal him. Although left with challenges, he persevered. He never viewed his accident as a tragedy, he was overwhelmingly grateful to Jesus for sparing his life. This afforded him the opportunity to be with his five children, to watch them grow and become the wonderful souls that they are. Although things were sometimes difficult, he did everything he could to teach his children about the only things in life that truly matter; perseverance, humbleness, and to love Jesus with all their heart and might.

Mr. Pickering is survived by his wife, Tonya Pickering of Moselle; children, Laken (Preston) Cruz of Moselle, Keegan (Jenna) Pickering, Bronwyn Pickering, Collin Pickering and AnnaBelle Pickering all of Moselle; grandchildren, Isla Cruz and Soren Pickering; parents, Randy and Lanita Pickering of Sumrall; brother, Donovan (Hope) Pickering of Bassfield; sister, Keri (Craig) Inmon of Sumrall and several nieces and nephews.
