A graveside service for Bonnie Lee (Knee) Crocker, age 89, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, at Welcome Home Cemetery, in Ovett, Mississippi.  Rev. Colon Rowell will officiate the service with remarks by Richard Smith.

Bonnie was born on August 27, 1936, in Marshall, Arkansas, the youngest child of eight born to Bertha Lewis Knee and Clarence Charles Knee. She grew up in Marysville, California, where she graduated from Marysville High School in 1954. Soon thereafter she met and married her beloved husband of 70 years, Thomas Preston Crocker, of Ovett, Mississippi, who was stationed at the nearby Beale Air Force Base. She made homes in the coming years in Marysville, Laurel, MS, Dallas, TX, Memphis, TN, and Olive Branch, MS. Her daughter, Tanya Lee Powers, of Murfreesboro, TN, was born in Laurel, and her son, Thomas Preston Crocker, Jr. "Tommy", of Boston, MA, was born in Memphis. She settled into her home in Olive Branch, MS during her last 30 years, while both working and in retirement.

Christmas was one of her favorite times of year, when she made family favorite sweets and cakes, decorated her home with enthusiasm, and took joy in gathering her family to visit. She worshiped and worked in the Memphis area as a longtime member of Ridgway Assembly of God in Memphis and as a data manager for Treadwell & Harry Insurance. But what she loved most was being at home. She referred to herself a "homebody," and when given the choice between visiting her children and grandchildren or being visited, her choice was inevitably for home. With cheer, cakes, and cooking, she always made the trip home a pleasure. While at home she sewed, gardened, and read, ever accompanied by her devoted husband, Preston. With her nose often in a book, she passed on her love of reading, which encompassed devotionals to Dickens, Grace Livingston Hill to John Grisham.

She was blessed with three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her two adult grandchildren are Sean Christopher Powers (Brittany), and their daughter Betsy, all of Houston, TX, and Amanda Lindsay Saldana, (Robert Saldana), and their two children Adelaide and Vivienne, all of Murfreesboro, TN. Her youngest grandchild, Ambrose Preston Adryan Crocker lives in Boston with his parents, Tommy and Holly Crocker.

She is also survived by her sister, Elvie Smith of Ozark, MO; many nieces and nephews living across many states; her extended marital family in Jones County, MS, including Preston's brother, Lavern Crocker and his wife Bradis; and his sister, Rachel Crocker Crafton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Charles Knee (Harrison, AR), Edna Wade (Kansas City, MO), Wilma Bohannon (Yuba City, CA), Cleo Sowell (Harrison, AR), Elmer Knee (WA), and Harold Knee (CA).

Pallbearers for the service will be Tommy Crocker, Sean Powers, Robert Saldana, Greg Crocker, Myron Crocker, and Thomas Crocker, with Ambrose Crocker serving as an honorary pallbearer.

She will be dearly missed and remembered by all her family, especially her husband, her two children, her three grandchildren, and her three great grandchildren. Her memory will forever be a blessing.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026 at Jones & Son Funeral Home in Richton, Mississippi.
