5:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Sand Hill, for Mrs. Betty J. "Midge" Broome, age 82, of Richton.  Mrs. Broome passed from this life on March 27, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital.  Bro. John Henry, Bro. Ronnie Maxie, and Bro. Nick Chatham will officiate the service with burial to follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Newell, Landon James, Alex Kittrell, Zachary James, Eli Edwards, and Garrett James.

Mrs. Midge and her husband, Gene, owned and operated the Sand Hill Grocery for over 15 years.  She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Sand Hill.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all.

Mrs. Midge was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Broome, son, Chris Edwards; daughter, Anita James, sisters, Ellen Martin and Elsie Breland; brothers, L.T. Edwards and Raymond Odom; and parents, Steward and Ethel Edwards.

She is survived by her daughter, Leisa (Larry) Dean; stepchildren, Debbie (Reggie) Elliott and Terri Kittrell; grandchildren, Garrett (Kayla) James, Zachary (Katie) James, Landon (Ashton) James, Holly James, David Newell, Adam Newell, Niki (Chance) Hession, Eli (Holly) Edwards; Shelby (Brennan) Dolbear, Amber (Paul) Ratcliff, Anna (Gabriel) Hurtado, Alex (Leanna) Kittrell, Allie Kittrell; great grandchildren, Grayden James, Rhen James, Allie James, Savannah James, AnnaLeigh Hession, Elias Hession, Eloise James, Julianna Ratcliff, Elliott Ratcliff, Raelyn Kittrell; and brother, J.C. Edwards.
