Services for Mrs. Bessie Jean Herring, age 83, of Beaumont, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Jones and Son Chapel in Beaumont.  Mrs. Herring passed from this life on March 20, 2024 at her residence.  Bro. Delton Parker will officiate the service and burial will follow in Beaumont Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Freddy Bolton, Avil Herring, Paul Goodnight, Hershel Lott, Jeremi Hinton, and Jason Lott.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brendon Ford, Mac Byrd, Alex, Jace, and Andrew.

Mrs. Herring worked in retail sales for many years.  She was a member of Kittrell Congregational Methodist Church.  She loved to cook and take care of her family when she was able.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Herring; parents, Benny and Bessie Tingle; brothers, Hub Tingle, Louie Tingle, Benny Frank Tingle, Bob Tingle, and Bill Tingle; and sisters, Frances Lott and Mary Freeman.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Jerry) Hinton of Beaumont; son, Scott (Jamie) Herring of Richton; grandchildren, Lori H. (Paul) Goodnight of Hurley, Jeremi (Hannah) Hinton of Beaumont, and Meliah Herring of Richton; great grandchildren, Lauryl, Andrew, Alex, Jayce, Oakley, and Ashton; sister, Alice (Tommy) Talley of Beaumont; and brother, Jimmy Tingle of Beaumont.
