Services celebrating the wonderful life of Mrs. Bessie Hegwood, of Oak Grove, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Oak Grove.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Hegwood was a seamstress for many years at Big Yank Corporation before retiring to spend time with her beloved husband and friends.  She will always be remembered as an exceptional cook.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Diane Sanford; her parents, Van and Maggie Wilson; and her siblings, Hazel Hosey, Gladys Doherty, Veda Mae Polk, Talmedge Wilson, Billy Wilson, Phillip Wilson, Van Wilson Jr., and Almeda Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas Hegwood of Oak Grove; her sister, Francis Tanner of Petal; and her brother, Richard Wilson of Prentiss.

Visitation for Mrs. Hegwood will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, also at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Oak Grove.
