Graveside services for Mrs. Avis Nicholson Brownlee, age 87, of Richton, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Brownlee Family Cemetery.  Mrs. Brownlee passed from this life on April 27, 2025 in Richton.  Bro. I.L. "Shot" Stinson will officiate the service.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Odom, David Grantham, Roger Burnett, Brandon Brownlee, Cruz Gonzalez, Clayton Burnett, and Aaron Moffett.

Mrs. Browlee worked at Strickland's Pharmacy for several years.  She also worked at the Perry County Nursing Home for many years and sat with the elderly at their homes.  Before retirement, she had a lawn care service.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who put God first and then family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leonard Quitman Brownlee; daughter, Donna Elaine Biles; granddaughter, Bethany Dawn Brownlee; parents, George Washington and Queen Hester Landrum Nicholson; sisters, Ruth (Johnnie) Odom, Mavis (Leo) Korndoffer, Willie Mae (Sam) Pitts, Veona Bond, and Lula Pitts; and brothers, Nick Nicholson and Otis (Kathern) Nicholson.

She is survived by her sons, Wesley (Pat) Brownlee and Bentley (Robin) Brownlee, both of Richton; son-in-law, William Biles of Richton; grandchildren, Shauna Watson of Hattiesburg, Shavaleir Garrett of Hattiesburg, Sheree (Josh) Sutton of Brooklyn, Dayla (Aaron) Moffett of Richton, Tim (Lauren) Brownlee of Harrisonville, MO, Brandon (Shelby) Brownlee of Petal, and Emily (Trent) Dixon of Richton, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Clonnie (Pat) Hulsey of Richton.
