Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, for Mr. Anthony Coaker Smith, age 85, of Leakesville, MS at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Leakesville. Mr. Smith passed from this life on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Bro. Greg Foster, Bro. David Grayson and Pastor Naaman Renard will officiate with burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be A.G. Smith, Brady Brewer, Coleman Smith, Barley Smith, David Smith, Deamian Fischer, and Therrell Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Wynn Renard, Stance Smith, MaLeah Brewer, Evie Smith, Coaker Smith, D.J. Smith, and Emory Smith.

Anthony was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as supervisor from the MS Department of Transportation. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 47 years and various positions of the church throughout the years. He also volunteered his services with the Greene County Beat 3 water system for over 35 years. He loved his family, hunting, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Winnie Smith; siblings, Jack Ellis, Boniel Murphy, Edna Earl Wells, Turner Smith, Clayton "Plug" Smith and Lewis Smith; father and mother-in-law, Stance and Mable Smith; and brother-in-law, Darwin Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hilda Joy Smith of Leakesville; daughter, Leah (Chris) Brewer of Leakesville; son, A.G. (Rachel) Smith of Leakesville; eight grandchildren, Wynn (Naaman) Renard of McAlester, OK, Brady (Nikki) Brewer of Leakesville, Stance Smith of Mobile, AL, MaLeah Brewer of Leakesville, Evie Smith of Mobile, AL, Coaker Smith of Mobile, AL, D.J. Smith of Leakesville, and Emory Smith of Leakesville; six great-grandchildren, Emma Jay Renard, Silas Renard, Noelle Renard. Phillip Renard, Summer Brewer, and Boss Brewer; sisters-in-law, Eugenia Smith of Leakesville, Sylvia Smith of Leakesville, and Marilyn (Ed) Powell of Belle Chasse, LA; and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 2024 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
