INTERMENT:  Mutual Rights Cemetery

Graveside services for Mrs. Annette Smith, age 89, of Neely, will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026 at Mutual Rights Cemetery in Avera.  Mrs. Smith passed from this life on September 15, 2026 in Leakesville.  Bro. Jimmy Bryant will officiate the service.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jaron Walley, Trevor Walley, Todd Smith, Brandon Smith, Levi Smith, and Dustin Goff.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Glen Pulliam, Wayne Pulliam, Vince West, Danny Bounds, and Jerry Cardenas.

Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful member of her community. She worked for several years at the garment factory and was a longtime faithful member of Mutual Rights Congregational Methodist Church, where she served faithfully for many years as treasurer.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed spending time outdoors, cooking, and, most of all, making memories with her family. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones and will be remembered for her faith, devotion, and love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Smith; son, Ken Smith; parents, Arthur and Estelle Breland; and four sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Belinda (Denzel) Walley of Avera; son, Kerry Smith of Avera; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jewel West; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her life was a blessing to those who knew and loved her, and her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
