Services for Ms. Alyssa Marie Grant, age 17, of Richton, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Jones & Son Chapel in Richton.  Ms. Grant went to her Heavenly home on June 22, 2026.  Bro. Terry Williams will officiate the service and burial will follow in Mulberry Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will Kyle Grant, Jackson Mouring, Harrison Grant, Ethan Wright, Reece Davis, and Jamarrion Poole.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Grant and Charles Thompson.

Alyssa attended First Baptist Church of Buckatunna.  She loved the Lord, her family and friends, her church family, and music.  Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 41:10 - "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you;  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  Alyssa's favorite colors were pink and white and she loved Mexican food, especially cheese dip.  We would beg her to go shopping and she would eventually give in, but only if we went where she wanted to go first.

Alyssa would have been a senior this upcoming school year, the Class of 2027 at Wayne County High School.  She was an honor roll student for all her years in school.  She had also completed a two year Health Science Program through Wayne County Career Tech and aspired to become a Radiology Technician.  She had worked the last two summers at The Cone Zone in Buckatunna where she made many more friends and increased her love of a good snow cone by trying all the flavors.

Alyssa loved life and lived it to the fullest.  She brought so much love and joy to all who knew her and will be forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Pansy Grant; and grandfather, Mike Thompson.

She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Angie Grant of Richton; brothers, Kyle Grant of Gulfport and Jackson Mouring of Long Beach; grandfather, Richard Grant, Sr. of Olive Branch; grandmother, Linda Thompson of Richton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other beloved family members and friends.
