5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church for Mrs. Alene Walley Manning, age 89, of Richton.  Mrs. Manning passed from this life on January 7, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital.  Bro. William Smith and Bro. Thomas Holloway will officiate the service with burial to follow in Union Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jay Hammonds, Joe Hammonds, Scottie Walley, Cleve Walley, Corey Manning, Johnny Leggett, and Bray Hammonds as alternate.

Mrs. Manning worked for many years in the garment factory as a seamstress.  She also worked as a cook at the Sand Hill Grocery. She babysat children in her home for many years.  She was a faithful member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church and a devout Christian.

Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her husbands, Verbie Walley and Fred Manning; father, John Little; mother, Ada Davis; son, Mike Manning; daughter, Marsha Leggett; grandchildren, Scott Manning and Anthony Walley; one great grandchild; two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Robert E. (Debbie) Walley of Richton and Ronnie L. (Sheila) Walley of Clara; daughter, Doris (Freddie) Hammonds of Richton; son, Matt (Debora) Manning of Richton, daughter-in-law, Delores Manning of Columbia, LA; sister, Nelda Carroll of Laurel, grandchildren, Jay, Gene, Joe, Scottie, Cleve, Miranda, Timothy, Missy, Johnny, Casey, Megan, Corey, Daniel, and Tyler; 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
