Services for Alan Leon Breland, age 77, of Leakesville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Neely Baptist Church with Bro. John Henry officiating. Burial will follow in McLeod – Magnolia Cemetery with military honors, Bro. Nick Freeman officiating.  Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Thomas, Wesley Lewis, Tony Williams, William McKnight, Derek Meadows, and Graham Breland with Jake Lewis and Norris Byrd as alternates. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Aidan Breland and Jullian Breland.

Alan was born on May 6, 1948, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Leakesville High School, Jones Junior College, where he majored in Auto Mechanics, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College, where he majored in Construction Management with a specialization in Pipefitting and Plumbing.  A proud veteran, Alan served his country both stateside and in Germany as a Private in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Alan was a mechanic by trade and worked in various places throughout Greene County over the course of his life. He retired in 2015 as a Parts Pro at AutoZone in Lucedale. Known on the CB radio as "Mighty Might," Alan enjoyed making friends over the airwaves, caring for his gun collection, and sharing his faith in Christ.

He was raised in the Leakesville United Methodist Church, where his family were founding members. Later, he became a devoted member of Neely Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon for the past 30 years. Of all his roles, his favorite was being "Papa" to his grandchildren.

Alan passed away on June 17, 2025, at home, with his family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Leon Breland and Zoe Lee Breland.

He is survived by his two children, Peggy Breland and Charles L. (Melissa) Breland, both of Leakesville; five grandchildren, Sadie, Graham, Aidan, CharLee, and Jullian Breland, all of Leakesville; sister, Dana (Jim) Lewis of Heidelberg; and a special friend, Janie Middleton of Vernal.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the servica at Neely Baptist Church.

A fellowship meal will be held after interment at Leakesville United Methodist Church.
